Four Decades Street Photography |
|
Ilove all kinds of photography; it is both my profession and my
hobby. Street photography has to be at the top of my list
though. I was taking street pix before I even knew that I was.
After graduating high school I worked in NYC and went to Pratt at night.
Walking around the city with a camera felt as natural as can be. I
eventually got a decent camera, a 35mm Miranda F slr, and my skills as a
photographer improved. The die was cast. Except for a ten-year period
during which I was developing my orchid photography skills, I have always taken
street pix. Some photographers get a rush from capturing a beautiful
sunset or rare wildlife...for me the moment of capturing a perfect
expression or juxtaposition of people against their surroundings can't
be beat. I like the quirkiness of our world and being able to record it
in, as Cartier-Bresson said, a decisive moment. A split second seen as
only I see it, that with my camera I can preserve for eternity.
These photographs are totally unique. There are three
galleries of work. I am not offering online
sales of these photographs at this time, but I do have silver
gelatin prints of some of the earlier work and can make inkjet
prints of the newer digital work. So if there is something that you are
interested in, please write for sizes and price. |
